ABOUT THE COURSE

In the Private Pilot License course, you’ll learn the basics of how planes fly and how to control them. Your training covers everything from starting the engine and taking off to landing and shutting down. An instructor will walk you through 19 specific flying exercises to help you become a skilled pilot. Once you get your Student Pilot License, you’ll even get to fly the plane by yourself, practicing take-offs and landings (circuits) and flying to other airports on your own.

If you want to make a living from your flying, you will need a Commercial Pilot License (CPL). Your instructor will teach you about the aerodynamics of an aircraft, the mechanical elements of airplanes, meteorology, flight planning, the human body, navigation, and many more things.

To fly at night, you must study  “Night Rating Training” NR

Night Rating Training is a crucial step for pilots looking to extend their flying privileges to include night operations.
It involves a series of training sessions that prepare pilots to operate an aircraft under IR.

The Training Typically includes:

  • Night Flight Training: At least 5 hours of night flight training, which may include dual instruction for take offs, landings, and navigation in the dark.

  • Solo Night Flying: Often including at least 5 solo take-offs and landings.

  • Night Flight Spatial Disorientation: Training to navigate an aircraft from the skies without outside references, such as the horizon.

  • Night Flight Illusions: Training to recognize and manage the effects of night vision illusions.

END QUALIFICATION

  • SACAA Night examination conducted in our SACAA approved examination centre.
